For over 28 years the team at PHDC has operated a modern dental facility at the Anglican Retirement Villages (ARV) Castle Hill called the “the Village Dentist”. The clinic aims to provide a wide range of dental services to our elderly patients that are not always readily available to many residents in other hostels and nursing homes.
The clinic is available to all residents of the ARV in the Sydney region and to elderly non residents who are patients of the PHDC or have indicated their need for assistance by contacting PHDC Reception.
The clinic is available 5 days per week by appointment with an emphasis on morning sessions. Saturday sessions will be available in the future for the convenience of carers and family members who cannot attend sessions during the working week.
The facility is designed for wheelchair access. A special hydraulic lifter is available to gently guide severely disabled or non ambulatory patients into the chair to enable dental treatment they might other wise be denied to be undertaken.
A modern friendly environment greets the new patient to the facility which is situated on the 1st floor of the new ARV Health Centre Castle Hill. Our clinicians are members of the Australian Society for Special Care In Dentistry (ASSCID) and understand the needs of patients in retirement villages, nursing homes and hostels. Using cutting edge technology and up to date techniques for dental prevention and treatment of elderly patients, we are able to offer comprehensive care and treatment options to all of our patients in this excellent facility.
Whether you are coming from independent living, hostel or nursing home we aim to ensure that comprehensive examination, advice and treatment can be accessed readily.
For patients or carers who wish to use the facility, or access the library of advice including pre-appointment requirements, contact PHDC Reception via email or telephone (02) 9484 1132.
